FCA: travel insurance firms must add link to new MaPS directory

On 8 October the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) launched  its new travel insurance directory for people with serious pre-existing medical conditions (PEMCs) on its Money Advice Service website.

In an update to PS20/3 Signposting to travel insurance for customers with medical conditions, the FCA has reminded firms offering retail travel insurance that they must include a link to the new directory on their websites by 7 November.

Firms affected include insurers, Lloyd’s managing agents, intermediaries and appointed representatives, and banks offering packaged accounts that include travel insurance. The FCA recommends that links be included within ‘any travel insurance customer journey’ or on any page where travel insurance is offered or discussed.

If you’d like to know more about how to satisfy this requirement, or about any of the other signposting requirements PS20/3 will subsequently entail, our expert compliance consultants will be happy to help.
